Trump campaign lawyer says fired election security chief Chris Krebs should be 'taken out at dawn and shot' for claiming vote was the 'most secure in US history'

President Donald Trump's campaign lawyer Joe diGenova said Monday that fired cybersecurity chief Chris Krebs should be 'taken out at dawn and shot'. 

In an interview on the Howie Carr show, which airs on Newsmax, diGenova called Krebs a moron for saying the election was the 'most secure in United States history'. 

'Anybody who thinks that this election went well, like that idiot Krebs who used to be the head of cybersecurity,' diGenova said. 'That guy is a class A moron. He should be drawn and quartered. Taken out at dawn and shot,' diGenova added. 

Krebs, a lifelong Republican, was fired by Trump by tweet on November 17, after he declared the election to be secure despite the president's claims of election fraud. 

Before he was fired, Krebs had served as the director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency at the Department of Homeland Security since November, 2018.
