HIGHWAY ROBBERY BRITISH STYLE

Brazen thieves steal PS5s, TVs from still-moving trucks

These brazen electronic thieves give new meaning to the terms “highway robbery” and “moving violation.”

Gangs of daring thieves have been roaming Britain, stealing popular items like cellphones, PS5 gaming consoles, televisions and cigarettes by jumping onto moving vehicles and stealing the stuff right on the highway, according to a report.

The scheme, which seems straight out of a Hollywood action flick, involves a trio of cars which first box the target vehicle in.

Next, a bad guy with guts of steel climbs through the sunroof of one of the cars, and jumps onto the still-moving truck that’s transporting the targeted goods, The Sun said.

That guy then tosses the goods down to his collaborators and jumps back into his own car through the sunroof.

It’s happened at least 27 times as of September, according to the Sunday Times of London.

Police apparently fear that at least some of the high-speed highway robberies could be the work of insiders who know which trucks are carrying the priciest loot.
