I feel deep sorrow at the passing of a wonderful friend, and wonderful person – the late Sheldon Adelson.

Haaretz - Israel News | Haaretz.com

With a broken heart, in the name of my wife, Sara, on my own behalf, and in the name of many people in Israel and the world, we send our heartfelt condolences to Miri and the family. Many of the Jewish people, in Israel and the rest of the world, share in the heavy loss.

It is difficult to describe what Sheldon did for the Jewish people and for Israel. Sheldon was one of the biggest donors in the history of the Jewish people. He gave to Zionism, to the settlements, and to the state of Israel. He made enormous financial contributions to many institutions – to medical and scientific research, to higher education, to Ariel University, to Taglit-Birthright, and to his immense projects in every field. With his wife, Miri, he gave generously to many enterprises that save lives and brought Israel renown throughout the world. Sheldon was a huge Jewish patriot. He worked to strengthen Israel, bolster its standing in the United States, and strengthen ties between the Jewish people in Israel and the Diaspora.

Sheldon grew up poor, in a Boston suburb, and become one of the biggest entrepreneurs and philanthropists in the world. He did so through his keen intelligence, his honest thinking, his powerful personality, and his courage. Sheldon could face down anything and did what he believed. And what he believed in, more than anything else, was the promise of the Jewish people and their state.

Sheldon truly loved America – America, which gave him every opportunity he could dream of. He wanted everyone in the world to have those opportunities and that freedom.

I have to say that I've met many wonderful people in my life. But this giant, a personality like Sheldon, comes along once in a generation. We will forever remember Sheldon and his enormous contribution to the Jewish people and the state of Israel. His influence will remain with us for generations to come.

May his memory be a blessing.

What Sheldon Adelson beloved in was duel loyalty. He was an Israeli firster who provided a private plane to traitor Jonathan Pollard‘a “homecoming” to Israel who sold out America and should have been executed.
May he rot in hell as a scumbag piece of shit who cared more for a foreign country then America.
The scumbag famously said his biggest regret was serving in the us army verses the Israeli army. He perpetuated the evil lie that Jews have loyalty to Israel over the USA. He was , by definition, an anti Semite. May he rest in piss.

If anyone is a scumbag piece of shit who should rest in piss, it's you Anonymous!

First of all, you've deliberately misconstrued Adelson's comment about serving in the US Army. True, he did tell an Israeli group that he regretted that he had worn an American army uniform rather than an Israeli one. But he never said he regretted serving in the US Army, for which by the way, he volunteered.

And you've misleadingly called Adelson an "Israeli firste" which he was definitely not.

You are obviously bothered by dual loyalty. Many Americans have a dual loyalty. Many Mexican-Americans have a dual loyalty to the US and Mexico. Many Lebanese-Americans also have a loyalty to Lebanon. Many Italian-Americans also have a loyalty to Italy. And the Irish to Ireland.

If you are not Jewish, you wouldn't understand the dual loyalty some American Jews have for the US and Israel. Like Adelson, I too have that dual loyalty. And like Adelson, America most certainly comes first with me too!

Anonymous, if you want to see a real scumbag piece of shit, just take a good look in the mirror.

Thank you for your response. I am Jewish but my sole loyalty is to the United States. I served over 20 years in the United States military. I practice the Jewish religion but I’m an American through and through. My sole loyalty is to the United States. Israel is not my nationality, my nationality is American. I like Israel, but I have no loyalty to it.
Jonathan Pollard was traitor who tried to sell American secrets to several of our enemies before he found a willing buyer in Israel. Israel then used that information to trade it to our enemies to help them. Americans died because of pollards treason. I know, I’ve seen the damage assessments. You have not.Pollard should have been executed, I would have gladly flipped the switch. After the pollard affair American Jews serving in uniform were treated differently. People didn’t trust us, they thought our loyalties were to a different sovereign. We were desired promotions and suffered extreme anti Semitism. Adelson flew the traitor to Israel on his private jet, a slap in the face to American Jews, especially those like myself who love America and protected her secrets with our lives. Adelson did not love America nor did he have any loyalty to it. He only cared about Israel. I should not have called him dually loyal, I should have said solely loyal to Israel.
The amount of anti-semitism he caused is immeasurable.
Fuck him.
He’s currently in hell now, resting in piss.
