The
people who are pushing the Recall Gavin Newsom project are asserting
that the signature verification process is being applied with undue
scrutiny and that the (largely democrat) power structure in the state is
working to ashcan as many signatures as they possibly can in order to
ensure that there is in fact NOT a recall election.
It
is going to be close (probably). If you believe the recall proponents,
they now have enough signatures, they are just working on the extra
just-in-case signatures. They have another three weeks plus a few
days.
My guess is that they will do it, but I confess that I WANT them to get the recall on the ballot. Hope clouds reason.
