The
Recall Gavin Newsom campaign is still running about 84% valid
signatures. They need not quite 1.5 million valid signatures, which
means they need to collect about 1.8 million to have an adequate
cushion. They currently have about 1.7 million on paper on the way to
various county offices to get the signatures verified. They have
slightly more than 3 weeks to finish gathering the required signatures.
The Republican party is actually putting some money for advertising
into the campaign so it has at least a 50/50 chance of making the ballot
IMHO.
It is likely the
recall election would be a stand-alone election to take place in the
fall. It is likely there will be over 100 candidates to replace the
God-Emperor Gavin Newsom. When Arnold did it there were 123 names on
the ballot. (Maybe I should run.)
Even
if the recall is successful he will have ten days to get his ass out
the door. He could, and probably will, do a HUGE amount of damage to
the state on his way out (assuming it gets that far).
I guess I will have to have a RECALL THE BASTARD T-Shirt made up.
