Due
to the fires burning north and east of here the smoke in the area is
getting BAD. Yesterday if you lived north of Lodi the air was
DANGEROUS, not just unhealthy.
The
Dixie Fire is now the third largest in state history and the largest
single fire in state history. Many of the really big ones are multiple
fires that burn together. This fire is covering parts of four counties
and three federal reservations. It has eaten up 676 square miles, or
almost 450,000 acres.
Well
over 100 structures have been burned, mostly homes. Abut 10,000 homes
are in serious danger if they can't get a handle on the fire pretty
soon. Right now it is about 33% contained.
