THIEF PUTS MOUSE TTRAP WHERE THE MONEY IS

‘Sticky-fingered’ thief uses mouse traps to steal drop box cash, checks

He’s putting his money where his mouse is.

South Carolina police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly used mouse traps to steal money from drop boxes in Spartanburg like some bizarro “Batman” villain.

“We need your help to identify a sticky fingered thief!” the Spartanburg police wrote on their Facebook page Tuesday.

Per the police reports, the MacGyver-esque criminal reportedly used sticky paper mouse traps on a string to pilfer cash, checks and money orders from three different rent drop boxes on Aug. 1 and 2, WYFF 4 reported. At one of the locations, the thief reportedly commandeered a whopping 50 checks and money orders, although the total dollar amount was not disclosed.

Accompanying doorbell camera footage, released by Ring, shows a man in a jumper, glasses and mask yanking money from a drop box on someone’s front porch, reported WSPA 7 News.

The cash trapper was “wearing glasses, a white hat, and a black Adidas hoodie with white stripes” and “driving a dark SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee, when he left the scene,” the Spartanburg police reported.

And the burglar wasn’t totally sticky-fingered, as he supposedly left a mouse trap and a blue towel at one of the locations, according to WYFF 4.

An enterprising thief. I have used sticky mouse traps in my garage. They work on snakes too.
