INTERESTING CIVIL SUIT IN THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF SAN FRANCISCO.

Kit Lam is a denizen of San Francisco.  He has just sued Jason Krutal, 32, also of San Francisco.  Lam alleges that Krutal stole petitions from him during the (successful) school board recall drive last fall.  Krutal has entered a diversion program including community service and impulse control therapy, plus a restitution order for Lam.

Lam is asserting that his civil rights were violated as well as his right to petition his government, along with theft of property.  His confrontation with Krutal was captured on video.  Lam is further asserting infliction of emotional distress, damages due to loss of work and medical costs and a bunch of other shit.  His lawyer asserts (of course) that the suit isn't really about money but is about truth, justice and the general nastiness of interfering with the democratic process.  Lam is an investigator for the S F Unified School District

It should be noted that after a hue and cry was raised Krutal returned the petitions to Lam.
