Richard Louis Brown
Richard Louis Brown is currently the President of Service Employees International Union Local 1000. Kinda-sorta. He has been involved in a months-long pissing contest with much of his board which has involved "stolen" records and locks to the building being changed once or twice. He is currently under suspension by way of a somewhat dubious (depending on who you ask) action by his own board.
An "investigation" has determined that Brown has committed 12 specific acts of misconduct, including being mean to people and "stealing" records. The investigation was undertaken by Homer LaRue, a mediator based out of Maryland.
Ten of the charges of official misconduct have been filed by Brown's VP, Anica Wells.
The 65 members of the board will meet this weekend to decide on what action to take, if any, against Brown.
The election in May of 2021 that put Brown in office had an 8% turnout. His principle running issue was to take Local 1000 OUT of the political endorsement business and return it to an actual labor union. The people who benefit from the prodigious amounts of money SEIU shovels out to politicians were more than a tad upset by this.
I have not heard any guesstimating on which way the board action will go.
