THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND THE NAZIS

The Catholic Church helped Nazi war ciminals

While there were some Catholic priests who did their best to help Jews escape the Holocaust, the same cannot be said about the church hierarchy.

Pope Pius XII learned of the mass slaughter of Jews in fall 1942 but dismissed the reports as exaggerated.

The Catholic church not only did not oppose the Nazi persecution and extermination of Jews, but it helped Nazi war criminals escape through Switzerland to South America at the end of World War II.
