THE BEST INIDCATOR OF FUTURE VIOLENT BEHAVIOR IS PAST VIOLENT BEHAVIOR

One year ago teenage Collin Griffith, now 17, killed his father in Oklahoma.  He asserted that his dad tried to knife him and so he shot him once in the chest and once in the head.  The powers that be bought his self-defense claim, or at least could not prove it wrong.

Last month the young man just (allegedly) knifed his mom to death in Polk County, Florida.  He then showed up at his grandmothers house covered in blood.  When the cops showed up and asked him what was going on his response was that he knew his rights and wanted a lawyer.

He claimed he had engaged in a lengthy fight with his mother.  He also claimed his mom fell on the knife herself.  The 12 inch kitchen knife had penetrated fully thru her neck.  Strangely the house was in very good order except for the bloody corpse of his mother.  The medical examiner said that it couldn't have happened like the kid explained it.  The fact that he had previously threatened his mother more than once was an issue too.  He had also spent some time in custody for assaulting his mother earlier this year.  That didn't help.  There was also a stay-away order in place that the young man apparently violated.

The Florida authorities are attempting to prosecute him as an adult.
