INDIANA PRISON GUARD BUSTED WITH 100 CELL PHONES

by Bob Walsh

Correctional Officer Taylor Hardesty is, or maybe was, employed at the Pendelton Correctional Facility in central Indiana. He dropped his car off at the prison to have the brakes repaired. (A fair number of prisons operate shops where employees can have such work done. It is often considered vocational training for prisoners and is very handy for staff.) For some reason or other they had occasion to search hardesty's car and found 100 cell phones in the car.

He was arrested at a friend's house and is now a guest of the people of Madison County awaiting trial on smuggling and bribery. He has not yet been able to come up with the $20,000 bond.

A $20,000 bond would call for approximately $2000 to a bondsman. Apparently his business wasn't making a lot of money.
