Various business media outlets have been reporting the last day or two that Toys R Us, the large toys-only retail, is going to shut down and liquidate in the immediate future. They are not the largest toy retailer, that distinction belongs to WalMart. They are, however, by the far largest toys-only outlet and as such are often the showcase for new toys.
If it happens (and it seems likely) it will that much harder for the newest hula hoop, odd ogg or pet rock to gain traction. Bummer.
