A
federal judge ruled yesterday morning that the "emergency" edicts of
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf are unconstitutional and unenforceable.
U.
S. District Court Judge William Stickman IV (a Trump appointee) ruled
that, while these edicts might be well-meaning, open-ended restrictions
on the ability of citizens to go about their daily lives and earn a
living are unconstitutional and unenforceable within the state.
As
in many other states Governor Wolf ordered business that he deemed to
be unnecessary to be shut down, restricted the ability of citizens to
congregate, shut down public venues and ordered citizens to wear masks
when out in public.
The governor announced his intention to appeal. The court has NOT agreed to stay the ruling ending appeal.
