An unnamed 45-year old man was sitting in his car on the West Side of Chicago at 1:30 a.m. Monday when a man approached him on foot, whipped out his gat and opened fire on the guy in the car in an apparent carjacking attempt. However the guy in the car was in legal possession of his own weapon and fired back. He nailed the bad guy one in the x-ring. The good guy was not hit. The bad guy is in the hospital in critical condition. His gun was recovered at the scene.
The is the second time in a month a roughly similar incident has played out in the Windy City. The carjacker was killed in the first incident. He was 13 years old. The good guy was a 34-year old woman with a gun permit.

Sounds like the PD needs to park cars on the street occupied by U/C cops and see if they get jacked. By the way, that 13-year-old is just as deadly as a baby Rattle Snake.
