Kyle Lobo, 36, had been a cop with the San Marcos P D in
Texas until earlier this year. He resigned while under investigation
for multiple alleged acts of domestic violence, including some against
both his wife and his 11-year old son.
On
Christmas day the cops responded to a San Marcos apartment complex to a
call of an assault by a man drinking and in possession of a gun. The
cops showed up and found Lobo holding a child. Lobo handed the rugrat
to the woman who called the cops and then went for his own gun. The
outcome was predictable. Possibly-probably deliberate on Lobo's part.
The Texas Rangers are investigating. Should be pretty straight-forward.

Suicide by cop. I worked with several San Marcos cops in the past. Even tracked a kidnapper to a local motel. I wonder if he was one of them the cops who made the scene. I hope the cops who shot him realize that he was an ex-cop and POS/criminal.
