Flagrant EU Meddling in Israeli Affairs Exposed
Secret document shows incontrovertible evidence that the European Union is working actively as an enemy of the Jewish state, in breach of the Oslo Accords, to construct a State of Palestine in Judea and Samaria.
The Jewish Press Monday reported that Israel’s Channel 13 News team had “exposed a shocking document by the European Union revealing a plan to meddle in Israel’s sovereign affairs by secretly helping the Palestinian Authority (PA) seize land in Area C.”
According to the internationally recognised Oslo Accords between Israel and the PLO/PA, the PA has construction and other rights in the parts of Samaria and Judea designated as Areas A and B.
Area C – again, as agreed to by the Arab side – is completely off limits to the PA.
And yet, undermining this agreement, the six-page document – which had been written at the EU’s mission in Jerusalem – described its plans to further expand the PA presence in Area C.
The EU has, for years, been acting openly and shamelessly in contravention of Oslo and in collusion with the PA to build thousands of illegal structures there.
The Jewish Press – which points out that the document was drafted months ago and is not in any way connected to the outcome of Israel’s recent general election – listed a number of points that appear in a part of the paper labelled “secret”, including that:
- The EU seeks to strengthen the Palestinian presence in Area C.
- The EU will use leftist organisations to map the “territories” to prove PA entitlement to it.
- The EU calls to ‘follow and monitor’ Israeli archaeological activity in the field [because it] is used by Israel to justify its hold on lands in Judea and Samaria.
- The ultimate goal is to combine Area C with Areas A and B – i.e. to bring all of Judea and Samaria under PA control as the prerequisite for the establishment of a viable State of Palestine.
The document goes on to express the need for “a common European vision” and improved coordination between EU states so as to maximise Europe’s activity in Area C.
Commenting on the report, incoming government minister, Bezalel Smotrich, who plans to be given authority over what happens in Judea and Samaria, including in Area C, scored the EU.
“The blatant involvement of the European Union in the Palestinian Authority’s efforts to establish facts on the ground and unilaterally establish a de facto Arab terrorist state in the heart of the Land of Israel is unacceptable, contrary to international law and incompatible with basic rules of diplomacy in relations between countries.
“With God’s help, we will lead in the government that will be established a combined effort – diplomatic, economic, enforcement and settlement – against the hostile activity of the Palestinian Authority and international actors and we will stop it with determination,” he said.
