MORE THAN HALF OF CALIFORNIA POPULATION UNDER FLOOD WATCH

By Bob Walsh

San-Jose-Flooding

As I pound this out on the keyboard about 26 million of the 42 million residents of the formerly great state of California are under some sort of flood watch, flood warning or evacuation order.  The area around Wilton, north of me, and Patterson, south of me, are flooding out in areas and the ability to drive around in these areas is severely impacted.

People are still drowning their cars and then drowning themselves (and sometimes family members) by being clueless or stupid.  This will go on for another two or three days, then a day break, then another two or three days, then another day break (assuming the weather guesser is calling it right).

I am not knocking it.  We need the water.  I just wish it would kind of spread out a bit and people wouldn't drive so stupid in it.

EDITOR'S NOTE: God is punishing California for its sinful ways. No doubt about it.

It is more or less OK where I am personally. My house is almost 40 feet above mean sea level and I have flood insurance. A few miles north is very nasty. A bit south is a swamp for low-lying ag land, which is fallow right now anyway. All the creeks, sloughs and rivers are running high to very high to over the top high.

Two years ago, my progressive old buddy in Northern California was complaining about climate change and the drought they were going through. This year my progressive old buddy in Northern California is complaining about climate change and the flooding he is experiencing.

smh.
