The
God-Emperor of the formerly great state of California, Greasy Gavin
(God I Want To Be President) Newsom, is trying to have it both ways with
regards to gas prices in California.
He
wants a special session of the legislature to deal with "gasoline price
spikes." His idea of dealing with this is to INCREASE the level of
administrative bullshit on gas refiners. This would include a mandatory
emergency storage set-up, which could be released under some
circumstances to temporarily increase supply to (hopefully) stabilize
prices. \
He also wants to give a very modest credit to electrical service consumers.
Democrats
in the state senate are not supportive of the special session, so it is
not likely to happen. They might try to ram the bills thru the current
session, which ends in two days.
