Deka Simmons and Daxcimo Craig
Deka Simmons, 40, has just been sentenced to life plus 27
years in Colorado for the murder of Daxcimo Craig, 48. She was
sentenced immediately after being found guilty of first-degree murder,
tampering with a body and tampering with physical evidence.
It
seems that Deka just hated sex offenders. Ceja had done a stretch for
banging his 17-year old girlfriend when he was 25. He had also
neglected to register and had an outstanding warrant for that issue when
he was murdered.
Simmons
allegedly shot Ceja in a garage, cut him up and stored him in a freezer
before hauling him away in a van. She was charged with the murder in
April of 2022 but the body was not located until October of 2023.
Simmons has a prior for being accessory to the murder of a fellow
prisoner in the El Paso County Jail and also stabbing her stepfather
during a custody dispute over her daughter. She might have some anger
control issues. She will now have a LOT of time to work on them.
