HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE DECISION MAKING

By Bob Walsh

David Zhu, 47. is a professor at Arizona State University and lives in Scottsdale.  He was married to Susan Jijuan Yan, 46, until Saturday when he shot his wife to death with two rounds from a shotgun.  Their children were present in the house at the time.  Zhu has admitted to the shooting but has asserted he intended to shoot the wall near her and not shoot her.  The children stated that they were not surprised at their father's actions.

ASU has placed him on administrative leave and banned him from the campus.

He worked in the Department of Management and Entreprenuership and did a lot of work in the field of strategic decision making.  He has been widely published, has won many international awards and has provided advice on a professional basis to business leaders around the globe.

He is currently being held in Maricopa County pending a $1 million bail.

I wonder if in the long run it will be decided his action was a good strategic decision or not?  I am guessing not.  I wonder if his kids will try to bail him out?  I am guessing no on that one too.
