BEING PRICED OUT OF A JOB

by Bob Walsh

A burger chain in SoCal has installed their first robotic burger flipper. The flipper cost $60K plus about $1k per month in maintenance. They get no paid vacation, no sick leave coverage and no coffee breaks. The CaliBurger chain believes that the increase in the minimum wage to burger flippers will make "Flippy" a paying investment in relatively short order.

The robot can sense when the burgers are cooked properly, flip them, and place them on a bun. It can handle about 150 burgers per hour.'

It also probably won't spit on your hamburger if it doesn't like you.
