Body cam footage from the incident shows former military policeman, Joseph
Griffin, being approached by deputies from the Volusia Sheriff's
Office.
According to Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood, the deputies were
responding to call about a burglary in the area and Griffin, who
currently works as a registered nurse, fit the description.
Authorities
said they were looking for a black male with a beard who was wearing a
white tank top and dark shorts.
During the encounter, Griffin was
detained before being cleared to go by the
officers.
Following the incident, Sheriff Chitwood offered Griffin a job
within the department.
The sheriff also commended his officers for
their handling of the situation.

Griffin complied, but wasn't all that accepting of the stop. He clearly feared the police from his comments when cuffed and after it was all over said the police had no reason to detain him based on a bogus ID.
