BECAUSE ISRAEL WOULD NOT SUPPORT RUSSIA'S WAR AGAINST UKRAINE, IT HAS BEEN WARNED TO STOP BOMBING SYRIA

Russia Tells Israel to Stop Bombing Syria

Moscow decries the “gross violation of Syrian sovereignty” as Israeli planes continue to hit Iranian targets in the war-torn country

Israel and Russia seem to be inching ever closer to open conflict.

It’s by now no secret that Moscow is miffed with Jerusalem over its measured support for Ukraine.

And the Kremlin’s reaction has been almost childish.

First, the Russians suddenly started making noise about Israel’s “illegitimate” hold on the Golan Heights.

Then they dishonored the memory of the Holocaust by suggesting Adolf Hitler was a Jew.

While none of this went over well in Israel, the nation’s leaders were more concerned about Russia continuing to turn a blind eye to Israeli airstrikes against Iranian military targets in war-torn Syria.

Russia has a strong military presence in Syria, and could theoretically put a halt to the airstrikes, which Israel deems necessary to prevent a dangerous Iranian military buildup on its northern border.

But Russia has stopped turning a blind eye.

In February, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, “The continuing Israeli strikes on targets in Syria are a major concern. They constitute a gross violation of Syrian sovereignty and are capable of triggering a rapid escalation of the situation.”

Then in May, Russian forces reportedly joined Syrian anti-aircraft batteries in opening fire on incoming Israeli aircraft.

On Monday, Moscow was at it again, accusing Israel of “irresponsible actions that violate the sovereignty of Syria and the basic norms of international law.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry demanded that Israel “unconditionally cease” these airstrikes, but did not elaborate on what would happen if Israel did not comply.

The warning came a day after Israeli aircraft reportedly bombed a shipment of advanced anti-aircraft batteries from Iran to Syria.

For many Bible-believing observers, what is happening between Israel and Russia in neighboring Syria looks like a precursor to the biblical prophecy of Gog and Magog.yri like a precursor to the biblical prophecy of Gog and Magog.
