On June 17, 1955, Disney Land opened in Anaheim. It was a complete
clusterfuck. The opening was supposed to be by invitation only but the
invitations were widely counterfeited and many times more people showed
up than the park could accommodate. They ran out of food and drink and
the steamboat ride very nearly overturned due to overloading.
