Alex Jones is an internet personality. He is what could
be reasonably described as a Conspiracy Theory Kook. He is banned from
YouTube, Facebook and Spotify. He has recently been found guilty of
defamation of character in actions brought by some of the parents of the
Sandy Hook school massacre which occurred in 2012. His point of view
was that the "massacre" is in fact a hoax.
Courts
in both Connecticut and Texas have found him guilty of defamation.
Families of five of the dead and one FBI agent who responded to the
shooting are suing Jones personally and his corporation, Free Speech
Systems. Jones has since acknowledged that the shooting did in fact
take place.
Jones claims a
net worth of negative $20 million. The plaintiffs are not buying that.
Jones has had an income of about $165 million at his Infowars Store
between about 2015 and 2018.
