The Eighth U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals told the
Harris-Biden administration on Friday that they could not fuck over
religious hospitals and surgeons by forcing them to perform gender
transition surgery.
Specifically
the court said that "intrusion upon the Catholic plaintiff's exercise
of religion is sufficient to show irreparable harm"
Catholic
nuns, hospitals, clinics and at least one university were among the
plaintiffs in this case. The original filing was made in North Dakota.
A second case, very similar in nature, came out of the Fifth Circuit in
Texas and resulted in a permanent restraining order.
At
issue is Section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care
Act. This act would require under an anti-discrimination clause that
any such institution that receives any federal dollars must perform
gender transition surgery when requested.
