Carini (in blue) withdrew from the fight with Khelif (in red) less than a minute into the opening round on Thursday
Angelina Carini is a female boxer, welterweight, on the
Italian women's boxing team. She had a bout yesterday with Imane
Khelif, Algerian. Carini was warning by her coach to NOT fight Khelif
as "she" had failed a chromosome test for the 2023 World Championships.
Carini threw in the towel after 46 seconds.
The
Olympics defers to individual sports governing agencies to determine
who they will let compete in what areas of sports. At least for now.
