One of the three or four budget proposals floating around the formerly great state of California includes a pension proposal for retired CHP police dogs, on the basis that their arduous work life means it is likely they will have abnormal veterinary needs during their retirement.
That is, IMHO, one of the few new items in the CA state budget proposals that is not completely insane.
