Everyone in Japan is holding their collective breaths hoping that the damage caused to their nuclear power plants by the earthquake and tsunami will not turn into a nuclear catastrophe.
Even if a catastrophe can be averted, the situation in Japan has become the American nuclear power industry’s worst nightmare. The nuclear fear mongers among us will be re-energized and the environmentalists will redouble their anti-nuclear campaign.
I predict that you can kiss the building of any new nuclear power plants in this country goodbye.
