The
Dixie Fire, now the second largest in state history, has consumed
almost 500,000 acres. Over 100 buildings are lost, many of them private
homes. Several thousand houses are at least somewhat threatened. The
fire is less than 30% contained.
One
small good note, the winds have changed here in the delta. The wind is
blowing in from the bay area and that is blowing the smoke into
Nevada. I feel sorry for them, but I am very happy for me.

It's hard to believe California didn't learn about controlling undergrowth from the Feds in the National Parks. The big fire in Yellowstone in the 80's was a eye opener and many changes were made. Fire is a natural occurring event that in some ways benefits the forest.
