Outta my way! I'll give up my AR-15 only after my death ... and my doc says I should live another 20 years.
This coming Monday Federal
District Judge Roger Benitz, in the People's Republic of California, has
three potentially very interesting items on his docket. They are
motion hearings for Miller v. Bonta, Duncan v Bonta, and Rhode v Bonta.
Miller v. Bonta concerns the CA Assault Weapons Control Act. That bans scary-looking guns in the state.
Duncan
v. Bonta concerns "high capacity" magazines, actually standard factory
capacity magazines, that are capable of holding more than ten rounds of
ammunition, which somehow makes them inherently evil. New purchase of
these magazines in CA by persons other than peace officers is illegal.
Rhode
v. Bonta is the idiotic requirement for a background check to buy
ammunition. It generates paperwork, costs $1 per transaction, and takes
up a GREAT deal of time both by the retail clerk and the computer
system to do the checks. It has I am told a high element of false hits
within it.
All three of
these are being reheard in light of the Bruen decision. Judge Benitez
has a history of not having his head up his ass and reasonably
interpreting law in these cases so the people of the formerly great
state of California just may be making the first steps on getting some
relief from this liberal stupidity. Maybe.
