The aftermath of an explosion at a Stockton apartment complex
There was a pretty notable explosion in Stockton Friday
evening. When it first hit the evening news I, and the people I was
watching the tube with, all said METH LAB based on pretty much zero
information. Later on they said it was an apartment, which lessens the
chance of a meth lab somewhat due to the smell. PG&E shut off the
utilities in the area for some hours and everybody in the 83 unit
apartment building had to be evacuated until the building structure
could be evaluated. Fortunately and surprisingly nobody died in the
explosion but one person is badly burned and another is having
significant respiratory distress.
Both the cops and the fire department are now saying it COULD have been an accident. I suppose that means it PROBABLY wasn't.
The residents have yet to be able to return to their apartments.
