OK, that sounds like maybe it will be a GOOD thing, but
then again maybe not. The lawyers in question are about 300 who work
for Sacramento County. This includes the District Attorney's Office,
the Public Defender's Office, and Child Protective Services. They have
been without a contract for two years. They believe they are deserving
of a raise of about 15% and about 95% of them voted to strike. Their
union has already served the county with a notice of intent to hit the
bricks.
The only good thing is that it MIGHT mean the backlog of civil cases will move along nicely.
