Gavin Newsom, the God-Emperor of the formerly great state
of California, made two interesting vetoes yesterday. One bill would
have allowed the UC and CSU systems in CA to employ illegal aliens in
violation of federal law. He believes, or at least SAYS he believes,
that that is a bridge too far.
He
also vetoed a bill that would have absolutely prohibited police
agencies in CA from using armed drone aircraft under any circumstances.
Various law enforcement groups and agencies were strongly opposed to
the bill.

A local agency recently acquired a drone. Several members were sent to Drone School. It's almost like getting a pilots license. Drones are cheaper than aircraft and can search for and follow criminals. This particular agency allowed an untrained supervisor to play with the new drone. It crashed. Super glue will not repair it.
With AI they should have a way of setting them up so they are very hard to crash. You would think. Maybe. Possibly.
