P-22
P-22 is a mountain lion. He has lived in Griffith Park in L.A. for many years and of late has taken to wandering around Hollywood neighborhoods eating the occasional family pet as well as racoons and possums.
Wildlife officials recently decided they needed to remove the elderly cat from the area for public safety. He wears a radio collar so finding him was not a problem. The 12-year old cat was nailed with a trank gun Monday morning in a back yard near the sprawling park. There was some concern that he might have been hit by a car the previous evening.
It is as of yet unclear what injuries if any the big cat received and what will be done with him. It seems unlikely that he will be released into the wild.

Small mammals are tasty and filling. When let loose to do their business in a fenced back yard, who could resist?
