African-Americans demanding reparations now erupted in anger at the California state Capitol Saturday after two reparations proposals for black residents were killed
SB1403 and SB1331 died in the legislature of the formerly great state of
California without making it to the governor's desk. Had they passed
they would have created a permanent state agency to work towards a
reparations for slavery program (CA was never a slave state and slavery
was never legal in the Republic of California) and would have set up a
mechanism to fund the reparations program. The Perpetually Angry Black
Caucus in the CA assembly is essentially threatening lawmakers who did
not vote to support the bills.
