Starbucks may be faced with a homeless influx now that a ‘racist’ policy which was not racist has been changed to allow non-buyers to use their crappers
The firestorm that erupted after two black men were arrested in a Philadelphia Starbucks has led the coffee shop company to change its policy prohibiting the use of its shitters by people who do not purchase its coffee. Social media users, newspapers and TV news reports brought the company to its knees by making a policy which was not racist, a racist policy.
I know a Starbucks district manager. He sees a potential problem with the change in policy because quite a number of Starbucks coffee shops are located very close to homeless encampments. Since anyone can now use Starbucks restrooms, the district manager fears that the policy change is an unintended invitation for the homeless to come into Starbucks to pee, shit, and wash up in the coffee shop restrooms.
If that happens, it will tickle me pink. It would serve Starbucks right for caving into those who see a racist behind every bush and under every bed. Go homeless go ..… to a Starbucks restroom!
And you poor homeless slobs, when you’re there, make a big fucking mess while you pee and shit. Yeah, miss them urinals and leave your shit on them crapper seats.
Tsk tsk, I’m so bad.

My daughter and her family visit New York City once a year. They usually use the facilities in Starbucks while sightseeing. They even have the Starbucks locations on their cell phones. They have never been turned away. They are white.
There ya go Trey. Well of COURSE it's just got to be a racial issue. Or...Could it be that because they are well dressed, quiet, and polite, that they go unnoticed when they illegally use those restrooms in violation of Starbucks policy?
When you come in, are loud and obnoxious, shabbily dressed, exude the aroma of poor hygiene, plop yourself down at a table without ordering anything, you get noticed. When you walk in and don't create a stir, you can get away with a lot of nefarious activity, such as your daughter and her family do when they visit New York.
Tell her to at least order something next time she visits. It's only right.
My own opinion, for what it is worth, is that Starbucks handled this whole thing badly. Their policy makes sense. Had they explained that CLEARLY and loudly they MIGHT have gotten their message across. Of course it is possible that the situation had gone so badly downhill once the cops arrived it was irredeemable but they two men were NOT customers and refused to leave when asked to do so. That is the definition of trespassing. Starbucks was correct. The society of the perpetually pissed off was wrong. Now Starbucks shutting down for a day for racial sensitivity training is just buying into the false narrative. In the long run I believe it will do more damage to them than would have been done if they had just hung tough.
Dave, I have never seen a Starbucks restroom policy. I've used many of them and not once did I see a sign that said for customers only. I'm sure there are some out there. I think there may be variables involved. Was is crowded? Were they short on seating? If I were running a Starbucks and paying customers were not able to sit and enjoy their purchased beverage, I might ask seated non-customers to leave. However, I do think these two black men stuck out like two black guys in a Starbucks surrounded by latte swilling whites. When they were asked to leave, they should have left. Once the police arrived and heard the request for them to leave from the manager and they refused it was game over.
By the way, my daughter spends almost as much money in Starbucks each year as I do on ammo.
Hi Dave, I checked every article I could find about the incident at Starbucks. No where could I find, "When you come in, are loud and obnoxious, shabbily dressed, exude the aroma of poor hygiene, plop yourself down at a table without ordering anything, you get noticed."
I did read that both black men were there to meet someone on business.
As far as my daughter and her family being involved in nefarious activity which means wicked or criminal, Partner you are way out of line.
Take your meds or take a nap. Maybe that will help.
