Justice Neil Gorsuch repaid Trump for his appointment to the Supreme Court by siding with the liberal justices in an immigration case

Republicans peed in their pants at the thought of President Hillary Clinton appointingformer Attorney General Eric Holder to the Supreme Court. Fortunately that did not happen as the Hildebeast suffered an unexpected loss to Donald Trump. Then the Republicans licked their chops in anticipation Trump nominating conservative jurists to the Supreme Court. They did not have long to wait.

After stalwart conservative Justice Antonin Scalia died in February 2016, the Republicans blocked President Obama’s nominee to the Supreme Court, thus leaving a vacancy to be filled by the winner of the 2016 presidential election.

On January 31, 2017, newly sworn in President Trump nominated Neil Gorsuch to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by the passing of Scalia. In the face of Democratic opposition, the Republicans had to resort to the “nuclear option” in order to get Gorsuch’s nomination approved by the Senate.

So how did Justice Gorsuch repay Trump for his appointment to the Supreme Court? On Tuesday, Gorsuch sided with the liberal justices by casting the deciding vote in a 5-4 decision of an immigration case.
