To no great surprise Governor
Hochul of New York has issued a list of places you CAN'T carry a
concealed weapon in New York State. This includes all public
transport. So, if you walk or take a cab you are OK. If you take a bus
or subway and are in possession of an otherwise licensed gun you are
evil incarnate.
I can't
imagine this will NOT be challenged pretty much immediately. I also
thing it has a good chance of being shitcanned as being unreasonable and
overly broad. The real question is how long and how much bullshit
will it take to do it.
I expect something similar from Hawaii, California and New Jersey.

I saw a person wearing a Bowie knife in a shoulder holster at Walmart. Guess what? Nobody gave a shit.
Also carry is prohibited in privately owned businesses UNLESS a sign is posted that specifically permits concealed carry.
It's the other way around here in Arizona Bob. Privately owned businesses have to post a sign prohibiting weapons on their premises. Failure to comply (since open and concealed carry is legal here) could result in a citation for trespassing only. Most of us ignore it.
(Still time to relocate, Bob).
