GETTING BLASTED IN LITTLE ROCK BY SHOOTOUT BETWEEN BLACK GANGS

by Bob Walsh

The Power Ultra Lounge is a night spot in Little Rock, Arkansas. In the wee hours of Saturday they were holding a rap concert (always a high-risk endeavor) when an eleven-second burst of gunfire erupted, leaving 25 people shot and three others injured.

The local constabulary believe the shooting was a person beef between two groups (gangs) in attendance at the concert.

The Arkansas A.B.C. suspended the clubs liquor license immediately and indefinitely. The club's liquor license has been suspended eleven times previously, all of those being related to payment of taxes and not conduct of attendees.

Under the current law persons with gun permits are NOT allowed to carry in bars and nightclubs, though that is changing later this year. I guess bad guys don't give a shit about the law. Strange, isn't it?

All of those shot or otherwise injured are believed to be likely to survive.

The club was probably owned by the gang in a subterfuge arrangement. Biker gangs do it all the time. Most of the time the owners have no choice.

Looks like this one hit a tipping point. They lost their liquor license and the landlord gave them a three-day notice. I strongly suspect this particular venue is about to bite the dust.
