So far the Harris-Walz people are admitting that Walz has, ON ONE OCCASION, merely misspoken about his record. Nothing to see here. Move along. Trouble is, that isn't true. There are SEVERAL of these incidents on the firm record. At least one of Walz's prior comrades in arms has records of contacting Walz and politely asking him to knock it off. Over a period of YEARS.
Biden was forced out of a race years back for plagiarism. Could Walz be forced out because of this? I suspect he COULD be. Whether or not he will is another questions. There are now less than 90 days until the election. Replacing him on the ticket could be impossible in many states and technically difficult in others. Will it be worse for Kamala to throw him under the bus now, try to ride it out and maybe have to throw him under the bus later, or ride that pony until the bitter end and hope for the best?
One thing for sure (IMHO) is that the Stolen Valor assertion will harm him most with the group of people that they are most hoping he will help them with.
My guess, for what that might be worth to you, is that the campaign will try to ignore it, ride it out and hope to get away with it. Right now even the legacy media is asking questions, which are being ignored. Can they continue to do so? Ignoring it and hiding worked for Biden four years ago, but he had Covid as an excuse. That doesn't exist now. If Trump keeps hammering it, and if Vance keeps hammering it, it will be good for Trump either way. If they can wound him badly, find. If they can force him out, better.
Politics is, in many ways, the ultimate spectator sport.
