To no great surprised the 4th District Court of Appeals
acted yesterday to BLOCK the earlier federal ruling overturning much of
the Maryland assault weapons ban. The vote was a far from unanimous
9-6.
This is now almost
certainly heading for SCOTUS. The high court already notified the 7th
District that their ruling in the matter was ruling pretty flaky. This
is, as far as I can tell, the first fully adjudicated ruling on an
assault weapons ban to be ripe for SCOTUS review.
With as bit of luck come the next session we may have a reasonable and definitive ruling on this bullsht.
