I WONDER IF THEY THOUGHT OF THIS

By Bob Walsh

Fire crews were first dispatched around 3:16 a.m. and Cal Fire said around 4 p.m. crews obtained a significant reduction in the battery's temperature and they are working on a plan to remove the semi cab and take it to the Tesla plant in Nevada.

Theoretically in CA diesel trucks will go away in about ten years.  Replaced by electric trucks

Today Hwy 80 heading from Reno to Sacatomato was shut down for not quite 14 HOURS due to a Tesla truck-tractor fire.  Once the batteries get burning it is very, very difficult to stop the fire.  Truck fires are not common, but neither are they rare.  Just throwing that out there.

CalFire did a couple of fire retardant drops on the trees immediately adjacent to the fire to keep it from moving into the flora.
