A base jumper in the Grand Canyon
An as-yet unnamed BASE jumper did a street pizza in the
Grand Canyon on Thursday. The park authorities recovered his body about
500 feet below the south rim at Yavapai Point. His parachute had
deployed and it wasn't immediately clear what went wrong. As BASE
jumping in the canyon is illegal the jumper did not have a permit for
his jump.
The Coconino County Medical Examiner is taking care of the details of identification and notification.
Being an adrenaline junkie has it's risks. Obviously.
